Affinity Debit Cards: Arthritis Foundation Teams with Tempo

TempoLogoTempo today introduced another one of their “affinity debit” programs. The program announced today is a partnership with the Arthritis Foundation in which debit cards (branded as Arthritis Foundation debit cards) can be used by Arthritis Foundation supporters. Each use earns the Foundation a portion of the transaction fees.

According to the press release:

“This is a great opportunity for supporters of the Arthritis Foundation to generate additional contributions by leveraging their everyday purchasing power,” said Scott Walters, Arthritis Foundation group vice president for corporate relations. “We encourage everyone who shares our vision of a world free from arthritis pain to take advantage of this new avenue to support the mission of the Arthritis Foundation.”

The affinity debit cards are issued by First Bank & Trust of Brookings, South Dakota, and are powered by a web-based platform developed and operated by Tempo. The platform enables organizations to quickly and easily offer affinity and co-branded debit cards to customers, contributors and members. These organizations can now provide open loop debit cards and offer rewards ranging from cash-back to charitable contributions.

Other organizations that have adopted the affinity debit cards powered by Tempo include: Dogster & Catster, The Breast Cancer Fund, Greenpeace and the Surfrider Foundation.

Tempo is a privately-held financial services processing company based in San Mateo California
