Artists Snubbed by Rock-n-Roll HOF Still Sell Music

Dec 12, 2012 – The 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees are now out and once again, thousands of fans worldwide question the veracity of the selection criteria. Some of the more popular from the class of 2012 inductees include – Guns N’ Roses, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, late singer/songwriter Laura Nyro, Scotland’s folk artist Donovan and British rock group The Small Faces/The Faces which included Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood. These groups have their loyal followers, as do so many other significant musicians and artists of the past. As you download songs from your favorite online music source using your prepaid debit card, remember that even if your favorite performer didn’t make the cut you can still imbibe in the sounds that touch your soul.

It seems that if a successful artist or group from 50 years past is inducted the the Hall of Fame, then there is little call for debate, especially if they are deceased. A very large part of the rock and roll enthusiast club tends to get their panties in a bunch every year their favorite artisit doesn’t make the cut. And given the substantial list of snubbed artists, there is no wonder why.

Here are a few in alphabetical order that seem to be deserving:

  • Bad Company
  • Joan Baez
  • Blue Oyster Cult
  • Boston
  • Carole King
  • Cat Stevens
  • Cheap Trick
  • Chicago
  • Joe Cocker
  • Deep Purple
  • The Doobie Brothers
  • Electric Light Orchestra
  • Foreigner
  • The Guess Who
  • Heart
  • Jethro Tull
  • Jimmy Buffett
  • KISS
  • Pat Benatar
  • Peter Frampton
  • Rush
  • Steppenwolf
  • Steve Miller Band
  • Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble
  • Styx
  • T-Rex
  • Three Dog Night
  • Warren Zevon
  • Yes

Even though there may be deserving later-day inductees from the 80’s and beyond, it just doesn’t seem right that the Beastie Boys get inducted to the Hall of Fame in front of the likes of Steppenwolf, Boston, Warren Zevon, Carole King or the Doobie Brothers to mention a few. No matter what your feelings are, get out your prepaid card and continue to purchase the music that you enjoy. There are also great prepaid cards for your teens available that empower them to shop for their favorite music as well.
