Authorized User

An “Authorized User” of a prepaid debit card is a secondary cardholder. Some prepaid debit card issuers and programs allow you (as the primary cardholder) to obtain a secondary card for one or more”Authorized Users“.

The terms and conditions of each prepaid debit card specify whether you are permitted to add an “authorized user” to your account. The terms specify whether you can request an additional prepaid card (linked to your account) for another person. If you add an authorized user to your prepaid card account, you are generally liable for all transactions made with the prepaid card or prepaid card account number by that user. Generally, if you want to revoke someone’s authorized user status, you need to notify your card issuer or program manager of your desire to revoke permission.
