Network branded prepaid debit cards are one type of prepaid debit card. Network branded cards carry the logo of a payment card network such as Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
These payment cards allow you to spend as much money as you have loaded on the card, and allow you to use the card at any merchant location which accepts the card brand associated with your card. For example, if you have a prepaid debit card with the Visa logo on it, you can use the card to purchase goods or services at merchants that accept Visa payment cards.
Most network branded prepaid cards are “reloadable” (that is, you can add funds to your prepaid card account). This makes network branded cards a perfect alternative to a bank account for many consumers.
