The KLS prepaid Visa Rushcard with the "pay monthly" plan option has a great many features and can provide excellent value for people who use the card frequently with signature visa purchase transactions. One great selling point is the two FREE ATM Withdrawal transaction each month. If you use a lot of cash, this can be a very beneficial feature if used wisely. There are also a multitude of loading options that accompany this card for those looking for flexibility. The company offering the RushCard Visa line of prepaid cards (UniRush LLC) currently is not rated by the Better Business Bureau, so we only gave them average marks, but UniRush does have a lot of experience in the building and management of prepaid card programs. There is an abundance of information on the Rushcard website and well documented (although a little complex) fee disclosures, but the number of available features make this a great bank-replacement product. Discounts for prescriptions and other medical expenses are also a nice benefit of using this prepaid product. If you will be using the bill pay features heavily, you might consider other cards, as RushCard charges for every bill payment and that can add up. Also, be thoughtful of the high replacement and expedited card fee charges. There is also a monthly fee, so you might want to consider the "pay as you go" plan if you are going to make only a few transactions.

Fees Associated With The KLS RushCard*
| Activation Fee: | $14.95 |

| Monthly Fee: | $9.95 |

If you have a large amount of monthly purchases, the RushCard "pay monthly program" is the best option for you. Be aware of a few fee "gotchas" like changing plans, bill pays and convenience fees for PIN transactions at point of sale terminals that will cost you extra. Also, avoid "expedited" service fees (like lost card replacement), as they are really expensive. If you aren't a heavy signature transaction purchaser, you may want to consider the "pay as you go program" with no monthly fee.
Notes:
* Fees verified as of 11/29/2011. Check the Current Terms & Conditions for a list of all the fees.
** Some ATM operators may charge a fee for use of their ATMs in addition to this fee.
*** To use your KLS RushCard in a "signature" transaction, select "Credit" when checking out at a brick and mortar merchant. Most internet transactions are automatically processed as "signature" transactions.

Here are GetDebit’s “Low Fee Tips” for this Card
By using the KLS Rush Card and other prepaid cards carefully, unnecessary fees can be avoided. Here are a few tips to minimize your fees on the Rush Card pay monthly program.
- Only make two ATM withdrawals each month since they are free. ATM Withdrawal Fees will add up fast if you withdraw only $20 or $40 several times a month. Also, many ATM owners charge an additional fee on top of what RushCard charges.
- There is also a Bill Pay Enrollment Fee in addition to a Bill Pay Transaction Fee - you might want to go to each vendor website and make a payment there to avoid bill pay fees.
- Don't order paper copies of your statements. The KLS RushCard (like most prepaid cards) will charge you extra to send you statements by mail. Save a tree and save yourself some dough too.
- Pick one RushCard plan and stick with it. Flexibility is great, but they will charge you to change plans.
- Sign for each card purchase rather than input your PIN because a PIN POS fee will be charged.
- Try not to misplace your card as Replacement Fees and Expedited Replacement Fees can be quite costly.
