The TurboTax Tax Refund Visa® Card is one of our favorite tax refund cards. One reason we like it is because the issuance of the card is nicely integrated (and documented) in the TurboTax tax preparation software that millions of Americans use each year. Read on to find a few other things we like about this card.
The TurboTax Tax Refund Visa® Card

The TurboTax Card is a prepaid and reloadable Visa card that you can use everywhere Visa Debit cards are accepted – online, for paying bills, and at ATMs. The card is part of the excellent MoneyPass network (which allows you to withdraw money, surcharge free, at over 17,000 MoneyPass ATM locations). For other ATMs, withdrawal fees apply, see the TurboTax Card website for all the fees and conditions).
One reason we like the TurboTax Tax Refund Visa Card is that TurboTax makes it very easy to sign up for a card and use it to receive your tax refund. Here’s how it works. When you sign up for the card in TurboTax, an account number will be automatically generated so that TurboTax can use it during the e-filing process (as your account for direct deposit). However, this is not the number that will be on your permanent card – you’ll get that when your card comes in the mail.
The TurboTax card is a great way to get your refund if you don’t have a bank account. By direct depositing your refund onto the card, you’ll avoid possible check cashing fees. Even if you do have a bank account, the card helps you manage your spending to avoid possible overdraft fees.
With the TurboTax Card, you can have your money direct deposited right on the card, and you don’t need a bank account or credit check. The TurboTax Visa Card is issued by Columbus Bank and Trust Company (CB&T) pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. Additional services provided by Green Dot Corporation.
