Borders is re-designing the gift card market with their new E-gift card options. Gone are the days of boring and impersonal gift cards. Users can now long into Borders.com or visit one of the kiosks available in Borders’ stores and design their own custom e-gift card to send to friends or family.

The gift cards can be customized for any occasion, or even as a “just because” present. You can customize the design, style, message and denomination. The gift card will be sent to the recipients email inbox within 24 hours. This exciting new offering makes last minute shopping a breeze, as you can make a purchase the night before a birthday or Christmas and still know that the unique and customized gift card will make it on time.

Recipients can use the gift card online or in Borders’ stores. To use the gift card in store, recipients can just give the number to the sales associate. The e-cards will also be visible on most smart phones, making it convenient to simply show the phone with the gift card number in store.
