The MoneyGram Reload Network

moneygram-logoMoneyGram is one of the oldest money transfer companies in the United States. They’ve been in business since the 1940’s, and are most widely known as a money transfer company. Did you know that MoneyGram has teamed up with Visa to provide reloadable debit card services at more than 40,000 locations around the U.S.?

MoneyGram’s legacy dates back to 1940, when a small money order company under the name Travelers Express opened up in Minneapolis, Minnesota7. Since then, Travelers Express grew to become MoneyGram International, and now offers a wide variety of payment and financial services to a global market.

Most importantly to people who have prepaid cards, MoneyGram recently partnered with Visa to allow Visa prepaid debit cards to be reloaded (or loaded) with cash at at over 40,000 convenient MoneyGram agent locations in the United States.  Here’s how to figure out if you can load money onto your card at MoneyGram:  Check out the back of your card (or check out our card reviews) to see if there is a MoneyGram logo on it – if it does, you can reload your card at any MoneyGram location.  Also, if your prepaid debit card is a Visa card, it is likely that you can load funds at a MoneyGram location.  Now, check out the terms and conditions of your card to make sure.

A load fee may be charged, depending on the issuer of your prepaid debit card. Make sure to read the terms and conditions of your card to find out what the load fee is. (Look under the section called “Adding Money” or a similar title). The MoneyGram retail location may charge you a fee for the load as well.
